The Mission of Free the CaptivesFree the Captives is an interdenominational, evangelical anti-human trafficking organization that desires to engage and mobilize the Christian community and partner with non-profits, law enforcement, and government agencies in the fight against modern day slavery. As a volunteer run organization, Free the Captives hosts conferences, speaks at churches, and provides anti-human trafficking volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can currently be trained to mentor human trafficking victims and girls at risk of sex trafficking. The goals of Free the Captives are to: 1. serve God and trust in His sovereignty (Psa 62:1-2, 1 Sam 3:8-10), 2. pray for freedom for the captives (1 Thes 5:17, Isa 61), 3. partner with local organizations to create unity in the fight against human trafficking (Eccl 4:9-12, Eph 4:-6), 4. respond thoroughly and quickly to individuals seeking to get involved and provide education and volunteer opportunities for the Houston community (Col 3:23), 5. focus on trafficking issues in Houston (Matt 22:37-39), and 6. partner with missionaries overseas who are combating human trafficking and be a resource for them (Matt 28:19).
