The Mission of Free the Captives Free the Captives is an interdenominational, evangelical anti-human trafficking 501(c)(3) non-profit that engages and mobilizes the Christian community and partners with non-profits, law enforcement, and government agencies in the fight against modern day slavery. As a volunteer run organization, the primary human trafficking objectives of Free the Captives are: (1) educating the community, (2) preventing and intervening in the trafficking of at risk teens, (3) reducing the demand, and (4) pursuing legal remedies to combat trafficking. To achieve these objectives, Free the Captives will:
2. partner with local organizations to create unity in the fight against human trafficking (Eccl 4:9-12, Eph 4:-6), 3. pray for freedom for the captives (1 Thes 5:17, Isa 61), 4. respond thoroughly and quickly to individuals seeking to get involved and provide education and volunteer opportunities for the Houston community (Col 3:23), 5. focus on trafficking issues in Houston, nationally, and globally. ![]() Events and Announcements
Reducing the
Demand for Sex Trafficking Campaign Free the Captives invites you to be a part of our new campaign, “Reducing the Demand for Sex Trafficking.” Your help is truly needed to reduce the demand! Write letters to the Mayor of Houston and heads of law enforcement asking them to focus on the demand side of trafficking. The primary
solution to end trafficking is through reducing the demand for it. Sex trafficking is a rampant problem in
Houston, enslaving both international and native Houston girls and women. It is an economic issue of supply and demand. There will always be a supply as long
as there is a demand for sex trafficking! 2012 Houston Human Trafficking Conference Free the Captives' Second Annual Interdisciplinary Houston Human Trafficking Conference is on February 18, 2012 at Houston's First Baptist Church at 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. We will have local and international presenters from Christian organizations, non-governmental organizations, academia, and governmental agencies. This is a conference intended to spread knowledge, provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of research and professional work, and provide the community with volunteer opportunities. Conference registration is now available online. “Just Rap” Awareness Concert “Just
Rap” was a free event that featured an exciting concert by
"Crucified," a Christian Hispanic rap group, a BBQ lunch, and a
