Phase 2 of Reducing the Demand: Letters to Gov. Perry and Concert

Phase 2 of Reducing the Demand Campaign: Letters to Governor Perry and Concert

Phase 2 was launched at Free the Captives' 2nd Annual Houston Human Trafficking Conference on February 18, 2012. In Phase 2, Free the Captives asked the public to increase their pressure on Houston's city officials by appealing Governor Rick Perry for help. By writing to Governor Perry, the campaign went statewide with thousands of letters pouring in to Governor Perry's office, not only from Houston, but from Dallas, Austin, and College Station. This phase served to greatly increase awareness about the blight of human trafficking in Houston.

Free the Captives would like to thank all the individuals and churches that made this phase of the campaign a success. Within one month, over 11,000 letters to Governor Perry were signed and collected. Your letters are the voice of freedom!

Phase 2 of the Campaign concluded with a "Reducing the Demand for Sex Trafficking" Concert featuring the Robbie Seay Band at First Presbyterian Church of Houston on March 31, 2012. We are thankful to First Presybyterian Church and Kingsland Baptist Church for sponsoring this concert.
